This might be a very short post. Today, i think i will also take this chance to explain the name of my site. My site is called strange science because of 3 things. Firstly, i think that science is sometimes real incredible. Two elements can combine to get a totally different thing. I want to know what cause them to become like that. For example, hydrogen and oxygen combine for water, H2O. They form a compound with completely new properties. If the properties were the same, we would be able to breathe water because oxygen is a gas essential for supporting life. This is why i feel that science is very strange.LAME. Another thing. I feel that it is strange how people relate to another. There seem to be a chemical property for everyone. If you all don fit, then you all do not fit. it just like someone is very unsocialable. He is just like Argon. Argon is a noble gas that does not react with any element. It thus does not mix with any other element to form a new compound. It is just like people mixing well and that there is an odd one out that is shy or does not communicate well. But i believe that one day, that "Argon" would soon be converted to another "element" and become "reactive". All of them are just comparison. The third reason is that I could not get another name... LAME
Okay, I know that this post is very lame. FINE!
Okay, I know that this post is very lame. FINE!
Today is a Sunday. I think I would post twice today. Let me post the first one:
Recently, bird flu and mad cow disease resurfaced. People are thus turning to vegetarian sources. Even though Singapore has done a good job in controlling the disease and not allowing it to even poke it's nose in this sunny island. Singapore is determined to prevent bird flu outbreak by having a trail culling which I thought was quite unneccesary and also performed random checks on poultry that we eat. So I hereby conclude that it is still safe to eat chicken! So if you are reading my post and feel that you want to be a vegetarian, well, perhaps you should not deprieve yourself of a delicacy(FINE, it might not be a delicacy but at least it was last time). Anyway, that was not my point in this post. I would be bringing the point that well, people are converting to becoming a vegetarian. Actually, I think eating vegetables are not that bad after all but why force yourself to take pills to take in all those vital nutrients you can only get in red meat? I don't know, perhaps people just love eating pills? Yucks, I am definitely not one of those. I hate it when those pills get stuck to my tongue and all those powder gets dissolved and becomes real bitter. Opps, off-track again. Whatever. I think that sometimes, people do not eat red meat because they say its for health reasons and some for religion reasons. Please refer to The Sunday Times: Lifestyle page 14. I would not be able to survive a week without meat. It's not that i do not like greens but its just that i like a balanced diet. Usually, dinner at my home consists of 3 dishes and 1 soup. At least one of the 3 dishes consists of vegetables only. Some people say that the killing of animals are inhumane. I am sorry to those vegetarians who are reading this post. I once thought that way too. I felt it was unfair to them. I tried to be vegetarians for 12 hours and immeidately, i could not stand the temptation of the tasty meals on the table. Basically,i convinced myself that they were bred to be eaten. Besides, if we are starving and cannot find vegetables, do we eat our selves? Obviously not, you fools! My main point today is that since people are so against eating meat, why do we find mock-meat on the selves of supermarket? In my own opinion, if you are vegetarian for health reasons, it would not make sense to eat those mock-meat because they contain extra food colouring to make them look like the real thing. What do you get, more mock things in your body. it is even more harmful to your body than the real meat. If you are one who do not eat meat because you think it is inhumane to kill the animals, you are once again, cheating yourselves. Since you do not want to eat meat, you are demostrating that you want to eat meat because you are consuming mock-meat. You are using it as a subsitute to fill your hunger for meat. So if you want to show you really is a vegetarian, stop eating mock-meat. Mock-meat is a product for people who want to eat meat but are vegetarians. Basically, you are taking in vegetables, made to look like meat. It is just like eating pork and eating barberqued pork. Both are the same source and the nutrients taken in are the same. So, whats the point in eating vegetables and mock-meat if both are the same? Besides, "mocks" cost a lot more than normal vegetables.Once again, WHATS THE POINT?

Today was a very tiring day for me. I had training in the morning, which was full of events. Perhaps most memorable to the team was when the Sec ones came in late. I could not understand why the Sec ones were so late. One by one, they came in, the latest in at about 9.30, the time when we are going to have our water break. They were all scolded by the coach. Yeh! Well, you can say that i am sacrastic but I don't care. It was pretty funny watching as a Sec one pop up every 15 minutes. They were then warned that the training started at 8.30... Well, they explained that every time they come after morning jog for training, it is around 9.00. And so they thought training started at 9.00. Well, all of these are lame excuses... Whatever
During lunch, some members of the team talked about our senoirs, how good they were... If only i could be like them... They all then went to play LAN. What the. I was not involved though. If you were trying to trick me into giving you their names, you would be disappointed cause they are confidentail. This is because if I released their names and something happened to them, they would kill me. Then we left Coronation and headed to school. We returned to school because of a hostel basketball tournament. We were all very optimistic that we would have great fun putting the scores and refereeing the matches. The truth turns out to be that well, we did not really get what we really expected. That is a high-paced, high scoring and exciting game. At least for my group. It was not fun at all. Both matches we refereed were not funa t all. the results are: 60-16 & 56-14. Both were a trashing. A one-sided game was never fun. NEVER.
Even if I was on the winning side, i hated it when my team trashed the other. It was no challenge at all. No fun. So stupid. Back to the games. The players absolutely had NO skills at all. One even quarrelled with the referee that the opposing player was rough and smack the ball away from her(Yup, one of the matches were the girls). She was almost "awarded" a Technical Foul(A penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct or violations by team members on the floor or seated on the bench. It may also be assessed for illegal contact that occurs with an opponent before the ball becomes live).Well, it was not satisfiling. At the other court, an explosive match was going on. Before half, the score was 7-15, pretty low scoring. In the second half, team 1 made a come back and won the game 41-40. The game became one of NBA standard when the game entered the final minutes. Teams were piling on the pressure on each other and I am sure they had great fun.
I really had fun watching that competitive match

Today was a great day. It was a half-day, well, perhaps not so half-day at all. It was a happy day tough. Whateber la. I used the time to play baskebtall at the court and managed to play together with my senoirs.
It might not be so interesting...
What can I say, My team mate was filling me in with crap during the bus ride home. With his permission, i would be publishing it here.
>>>Jason kidd wants to win the NBa championship. He bought beer but was caught because he is under 18!(kidd=kid).
>>>So they had to buy curry(Eddie Curry)
>>> They thought it would be nicer with fish inside.(Derek Fisher)
>>> So Derek Fisher became Derek Er!
>>> Someone is foxy around here. He wants to steal the curry(Rick Fox)
>>> And here comes a shark(SHAQuille on'neal)
-------------------------------------------------------
>>>lame right

Today, I got back my Maths results. Pretty shocking... I passed the test(luckily). I was not happy with the marks at all. Gone with the sad things.
Just before I worte this blog, I heard Josh Groban's You raise me up. This song is a slow tempo one, very off-track from my favourite genre of music. But I feel that this song is pretty meaning full, talking about someone getting the help from someone else that help him reach greater heights. I think it might be better if it was much up-tempo. Anyway, the way he sang it was nice too.
Recently, me and my good friend had a great idea of having an All-star weekend in The Chinsese High School too. If you do not know what that was, let me give you a little information on the All-star weekend.
The All-star weekend is held on the 16th week of each Nba season, which usually fall on a February. This is a weekend where every Nba player has it off. They get to enjoy themselves. The All-star weekend consists of the Got milk rookie challenge, 3 point shoot-out, 989 skills challenge, slam dunk competition and the All-star game. This event is where rising stars would get recognised and veteran stars reinforcing their power.
The most anticipitated event in the NBA calendar, it draws millions of viewers each year.
So much for brief information. Well, we are trying to organise our very own All-star weekend. We can invite students across levels to participate. I am sure it would be a very good event.
I have yet to draft up the proposal so that is pretty distant.
On a better note, i think our team would like to compile a list of 101 reasons to skip training. This is because I think our some people in our team is a professional in slackinology. They would be the most suitable people to compile that list. Perhaps we can use those reasons and compile a book, a potential bestseller! We will then be rich! What a business venture! Got to tell my teammates tomorrow!

Well, obviously my friend was not so happy about me not mentioning his name in the previous post...
Whatever, sorry for not posting any for the past 2 days. I was "real" busy. Anyway, due to his "overwhelming response" I had to add this in.
The smaller guy is in fact(pretty saddly), Junwen. He is from our class. He told me to exaggerate his fall... What ever. So here it goes,
He crashed into the fat guy and CRASH!! I could hear his bones smashing into pieces. It must be a good fall, hehe. That wasn't supposed to be sacrastic. He then fell on the ground, screaming in pain, blood gushing out from every single area of his body. (If you cannot imagine it independently, take a look at Happy Tree Friends. Any one of them will trigger your thoughts...)
Enough of old things. I shall mention something about another Basketballer. His name is well, not worth mentioning... Anyway, he was always talking about FF11 during training. He is the slackiest person I have ever seen. Once upon a time, a bigger player in the team(Yes, the same one from saturday) fell on his leg and he was out of training for 3 MONTHS! How could anyone match that. Even when that bigger guy sprained his ankle, he was only out for 5 days! Recently, he kept mentioning about joining library. He said that there is air-con, very slack, one week only once... For the past month, he has been skipping training and Hey presto! he is now a librarian. Seems like magic right? He was kicked out of the team for skipping training. Poor him. Perhaps his leaving might not be so bad after all! This is because although he was a good playmaker (which not a lot of people in the team could do), he always made the team morale low. He keeps mentioning about games during training and kept complaining about the hot sun and blablabla. Now, he is of no value to the team anymore. This is because, a lot of other players in the team has risen up to take his place of a playmaker in the team.
I still remembered once that he proposed to train 6 days a week last year. Seems like he has got nothing better to do... Last year, the team trained 5 days a week for Sec ones. I do not know why he proposed that idea when he undoubtly would not come for all the trainings, if at all. Thankfully, I am glad to see that the Sec ones this year are all pretty good( remember my post about Marcus 1?). At least we would not sink during the C' division this year.

Hello all. First of all, today, i just manage to create a "poster" for my blog. Well, lets test your inference skills... Questions: a) what do you infer from the picture?.
(please do not continue untill you have answered the question.)No answer? Give up?
Well, i love number 7 and i play basketball... ... It is so simple. What were you thinking about?
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Anyway, a real funny incident(well, perhaps devastating would be a better word...). This happened during training. Our team has a real big sized player. he weighs 110kg and is about 170m tall. The secondary character is a 175m tall, 30-40+kg player. A huge miss match right? I couldn't imagine what would happen if they crash into each other. Well, the unimaginable happened and i felt so sorry for the smaller guy. They charged at each other at full speed and CRASH! both of them fell to the ground.
Exactly, they crashed into each other unintentionally. They were doing a drill when that happened. Lets don't talk about those cause and effects thingys. After that collision(makes me think of Seattle Supersonics's Nick Collision), the bigger guy got back on his legs but the smaller one is lieing on the ground, SCREAMING in pain. I wonder how did that feel but i definitely do not want to try that out myself!(Try it if you want!). The Coach came over and told the person to sit out of training a while. Everyone is asking if he is alright. The bigger one then said to me that everyone cares for him but no one cares about him and that he also injured his hand... (If you are reading my blog now, ARE YOU ALRIGHT?) These are parts and parcels of training.
During the water break, i challenge Marcus 1. If you were wondering who is Marcus 1, he is a Sec one guy called marcus. He is a tall fellow, taller than me. He won our sec two captain, also called marcus. ( Now you know why right?) I then went on to beat him 5-4. Muahaha, i won him.
Signing off,
Note: in case you don't know who is Nick Collison(mentioned inside this post), i am going to put some information of him.
